The Only Fall Bucket List You’ll Need

Fall is gone before we know it. Take advantage of those crisp months with our Canadian Fall Bucket List - Family Edition.

We often say summer is too short, but I always end up feeling this way about fall. The summer heat usually holds on into mid-September, and by the time the crisp fall air is here, it’s suddenly below zero and everyone’s in holiday mode. So this fall, I’m taking full advantage of everything autumn, cozy, spooky and delicious.

Join the By The North team as we embark on doing EVERYTHING on our Fall Bucket List.

  • Visit a pumpkin patch and let everyone choose their own

  • Go apple picking (then make apple crisp!)

  • Take a fall-colour drive with coffee, hot chocolate and timbits

  • Visit a farmer’s market or local harvest festival

  • Go on a “leaf hunt”, collect your favourites and make pressed-leaf art

  • Carve or decorate pumpkins (not into carving? Paint them, add stickers and googly eyes)

  • Have a family Halloween movie night with themed snacks

  • Do a cozy soup-and-bread night, get the kids involved in the prep

  • Take family photos during peak fall colours

  • Make homemade caramel apples

  • Have a fall picnic with blankets, thermoses and warm food

  • Visit a corn maze

  • Attend a haunted walk or ghost tour

  • Do a porch refresh with mums, pumpkins, lanterns and a layered doormat

  • Rake up a pile of leaves and have the kids jump in

  • Spend one rainy afternoon baking, watching movies and doing absolutely nothing productive

We hope your family makes some cozy core memories this fall.
